Brief mention
was made of the death of Mrs. W.F. Berry of Axtell in our columns last
week. Mrs. Berry’s maiden name was
Morning Thursby Arnold. She was born in Putnam County, Indiana in 1834 and came
to the territory, later the state of Iowa. She was married to William Francis
Berry in November 1857. They were the parents of 8 children, one of whom died
in infancy. These with the husband survive; Ida M of Oregon; Francis W. of
Axtell, Charles E, Utopia; Orvis H, Denver, Colo; Otis N, Marysville; Dora E,
Axtell and Robert E. Baileyville. The family have lived in Axtell since
February 1889. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov 18th at
the ME Church and interment was made in Axtell cemetery. - kbz
